The Structure of Our Rubber Keychains
2D and 3D Rubber Keychains
There are two options available for rubber keychains: 2D and 3D shape
Option 1: Two dimensional (2D) shape
The surface is flat, not bulging. Even the raised layer is considered a 2D shape.
Types of 2D rubber keychains include:
A. Single-Sided 2D
The front of the keychain is injected with rubber, while the back is either left blank without any logo, or is silk printed with additional information. We usually advise customers to use this kind of 2D design as it is the least expensive option. 80% of our customers use it and love it!
B. Double-Sided 2D
Both the front and back of the keychain are injected with rubber. This means that both sides have matching logos.
Option 2: Three dimensional (3D) shape
The surface is bulging, but not full 3D—instead it can be called semi-3D.
Not all logos are suitable for a 3D design, so we advise customers to consult with us for professional advice before placing their order.

About full-3D rubber keychains
Full 3D rubber keychains are not commonly used. They are more beautiful and dimensional, but also cost much more than the 2D or semi-3D options as we need harder work in making the mold, injecting the rubber, and baking the keychain. However, if you need full-3D, please mention it when sending your enquiry and contact us individually.
Single-Layer and Multi-Layer Rubber Keychains
Our rubber products are available in a layered structure consisting a base layer (also used for single-layer keychains) followed by a second and sometimes third layer. We cannot create keychains with more than three layers. The single-layer structure may not be available for some unique designs as there is a slit between differently colored parts on a single-layer product. This means that 2-layered designs are preferable in some cases.
Which layer option is most suitable depends on your logo design, but only an experienced molding technician knows how to choose the ideal layer style during production. Due to this, we usually let our technicians make the decision.
Generally, the 2-layer design is the standard (default) style, although it is sometimes also combined with a single layer style.
Rubber Hoop (for a metal ring)
During assembly, sometimes we can make a hole near the edge of the rubber in order to attach a metal ring.
However, there is usually limited or no extra room to make a hole, and some customers do not want to leave a hole in the rubber. Thus, we offer a second option: to add a rubber hoop (conjunction) to the keychain so that the attachment can be connected.
Attachments
Our standard rubber keychain attachment is a 25mm diameter metal ring (plus a small jump ring). This is the most commonly used and lowest cost attachment compared to other fittings, so we usually recommend it to customers.
Other attachments can be supplied at an additional charge (see the picture below).
